本次会议，旨在深入贯彻落实习近平总书记在全国民族团结进步表彰大会上的重要讲话精神，通过共同现代化试点建设，着力推动民族地区高质量发展、着力促进各民族交往交流交融、着力赋予所有改革发展以“三个意义”，全面推进中华民族共有精神家园建设，提升各族群众的获得感、幸福感、安全感，实现物质文明与精神文明相协调的现代化，有形有感有效铸牢中华民族共同体意识。
会议强调，要在此专项工作中加强党的组织领导，建立党政主要领导挂帅的试点工作领导体制，组建工作专班，形成党委统一领导、各部门通力合作、全社会共同参与的共同现代化试点工作格局。要加强与省内高校建立校地合作长效机制的力度，制定共同现代化试点考评指标，探索建立试点工作评估体系，开展试点工作重大课题研究和成果转化应用，推动民族地区经济社会全面发展。
